Faculty Positions at Appalachian State University

The Department of Geology at Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina, invites applications for two one-year faculty positions beginning August 2011. For the first position we seek a geoscientist to teach lectures and labs in Introduction to Environmental and Applied Geology. For the second position we seek a geoscientist to teach lectures and labs in Introduction to Historical Geology. The successful candidates will have a MS or PhD at the time of appointment, and must possess a strong commitment to undergraduate education. There is a possibility of the positions being extended through the following academic year.

Applications must include a letter of interest, vita, copies of transcripts of all college and university work (official copies due upon employment), and the names and contact information (including e-mail) of three referees familiar with the applicant’s teaching and scholarship.
