Job Summary: PhD opportunities in carbonate cluster geochemistry, University of Hong Kong

Type: Full Time – Student/Graduate/Internship

We would like to advertise for a PhD position in the field of carbonate cluster chemistry. PhD topics offered center around the speciation and solvation of carbonate clusters using FT-ICR mass spectrometry. One of the goals of this work is to characterize structures and energetic properties of individual carbonate clusters and to study dissolution and precipitation reactions one molecule at a time.

Requirements:
Applicants should hold a MSc in Geochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline and should be motivated to perform experimental as well as fundamental simulation studies. Applications are to be submitted no later than May 31st 2011.
