Job available: Assistant Professor, Geosciences – Spatial Hydrology

Perform innovative and collaborative research in geospatial hydrology, hydrologic modeling, GIS, hydroinformatics and related areas. Publish research results in manuscripts in peer reviewed journals. Attend and make presentations at appropriate regional, national, and international conferences. Mentor graduate and undergraduate student researchers. Teach three classes per year including at least one course in the geotechnologies program and at least one course at the graduate level. Help with and independently prepare submissions of research grant and project proposals, including defining general project goals and direction, and preparing project reports for funding agencies. Maintain active service at the departmental, university and community levels.

Minimum: Requirements include PhD in Geosciences, Hydrology, Engineering, GIS, Watershed Science or other appropriate area, demonstrated expertise in watershed modeling, GIS, spatial hydrology.

Preferred: Demonstrated experience teaching and conducting original research and publishing/presenting results in the field of geotechnologies, spatial hydrology, and/or watershed modeling. Demonstration of collaborative research efforts. Demonstrated experience with completing the full hydrologic modeling life cycle from software and model development to model implementation, performing model-based hydrologic/water resources assessments, and field-based assessments. Experience working integrated modeling or workflow frameworks and/or developing original software for use in geospatial hydrology is considered a plus.
