Job Title : ANALYST GIS 1, 2 or SENIOR

Salary Range : $4266.00 ‐ $7578.00 / mo.

Typical Education and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree is required in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Cartography, Engineering, Resource Planning, Environmental Science, or related field appropriate for assignment.
– Three to five years experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills
Applicant must command an in‐depth technical knowledge of a broad spectrum of GIS software, as applied to GIS analysis and job design, programming, software testing and implementation. Advanced editing and analysis capabilities using ESRI ArcMap are essential, including Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, and 3D Analyst extensions. Raster imagery management and raster image analysis skills required. Must demonstrate advanced skills in cartography and have basic geography and mapping background, including the ability to understand cadastral legal descriptions and coordinate systems. Proficiency with Visio Model, Python scripting and Model Builder are desirable. Background in water and power utility systems, Engineering, Surveying, and Water Rights and Environmental issues preferred.

Position requires analytical and problem solving skills, and proficiency with database management and queries. Documentation, organization and communication skills, attention to detail and quality, customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are essential.

General Job Description (Internal)
In a team environment, under limited supervision: creates, maintains and documents spatial datasets; designs and produces custom maps; and performs complex GIS analyses for use in maps and statistical reports. Maintains focus on data quality and process improvement. Manages complex assigned workload and coordinates assigned projects with peers, clients and management. In addition, they advise management and clients on best GIS practices.
