Title: GIS Analyst II

Assist a USMC client with maintaining an enterprise installation geospatial information and services (IGI&S) program. Improve GIS data quality and data management procedures interacting with an enterprise IGI&S system supporting the multiple disciplines of installation management. Maintain procedures and technical documentation to support geospatial data in an enterprise implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. Execute the responsibilities of a mid-level GIS Analyst supporting a Regional Level DoD IGI&S Program. Apply geospatial technical and analytical knowledge to solve issues related to facility and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Assist with integrated geospatial data management, including data collection, development, documentation, analysis and use.
• Acquire geospatial data in the field through the use of a GPS receiver as required.
• Provide visualization services as required including map development and other cartographic products.
• Support AutoCAD drawings and CAD data integration.
• Perform geospatial analysis in support of installation management including spatial analyses and specialized queries.
• Support emergency managers by performing maintenance, updates and enhancements to emergency dispatch geospatial data.
• Train emergency managers and field users in the use of GPS and GIS.

Minimum Requirements:
• BA/BS in Geography, GIS, Cartography, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 3 years of experience in GIS with cartographic, analyst, editor, database or similar duties.
• 1-2 years of experience using AutoCAD for 2D/3D drawings.
• Experience with GPS data collection process; field data collection methods, survey techniques and knowledge of accuracy standards.
• Experience with data management, technical writing, and geodatabases.
• Proficient use of Esri’s ArcGIS software suite.
• Experience with and knowledgeable of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE).
• Ability to train and provide technical direction to less experienced personnel.
• Ability to perform fieldwork in tropical environments and travel via military transportation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Experience with MS office products.
• Motivated and able to function independently.

This job is a full time position and will be located in Okinawa, Japan. The candidate must be a US Citizen, possess a valid US driver’s license, and capable of attaining a Secret security clearance. Preference will be given to candidates that possess an active DoD clearance. Preference will also be given to candidates that have USMC and/or IGI&S experience.
