Position Description:
The Baldwin Group, Inc. (TBG) (www.tbgroupconsultants.com) seeks a talented Geospatial Analyst with experience in geographic information systems (GIS), elevation data (LiDAR primarily), and coastal hazards to support the NOAA Coastal Services Center (Center).

A part of the NOAA National Ocean Service, the Center’s mission is to support the environmental, social, and economic well being of the coast by linking people, information, and technology. The Center (www.csc.noaa.gov) works with various branches of NOAA and other federal agencies to bring information, services, and technology to the nation’s coastal resource managers.

Duties

• Working within a team conducting spatial analysis
• Compiling and organizing spatial data and metadata
• Processing Data and implementing workflows within an enterprise GIS

Qualifications

• Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software and extensions for spatial data development, analysis and/or metadata documentation is required
• Experience in the following areas highly desirable:
o Inundation mapping using various types of model outputs
o Vertical datum transformations
o Quality assurance and testing of elevation data, specifically lidar
o Spatial analysis using ArcGIS Model Builder and/or Python scripting
o Data creation and editing within ArcGIS, specifically raster data
o Authoring and deploying various types of map services using ArcGIS Server
o Experience and skill in cartography within a web mapping environment
• Experience/familiarity with other software packages for managing elevation data is desirable
• Experience working in a Linux environment is a plus
• Organization and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
