The Queens College, City University of New York is offering a PhD Graduate Research assistanship in Soil Biogeochemistry and Microbiology.

Job Description
The School of Earth & Environmental Sciences at Queens College, CUNY invites applications for a research assistantship in soil biogeochemistry and microbiology starting in Fall 2013. Research will be part of a 5-yr, NSF-funded, field and lab project investigating the fundamental biological, chemical and physical controls on black carbon (BC) degradation and transport processes in a northern forest soil. The doctoral student may earn their PhD though either the Earth & Environmental Sciences or the Biology (Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior) doctoral programs at The CUNY Graduate Center depending on their area of focus. Ideally, candidates should have completed an MS in soil science, geosciences, environmental microbiology, or ecosystem science, but candidates with BS degrees with research experience will be considered.

Requirements
BS in sol science, geoscience, environmental microbiology, ecosystem science, MS and 1-2 years of research experience preferred.
